OUR STORY

About Mummy's Chilies
“Mummy" started eating chilies as soon as she could walk, just about!
At the age of 1 and a half, I would walk to the fridge and reach into the vegetable tray for fresh chilies to eat. My Mummy tried to stop me thinking I was too little for them, but to no avail. By the age of 3, I was referred to as Pili Pili (Chili in Kiswahili).
Anyone who knows me well, knows I would rather have a plateful of chilies and pickles than food!
Growing up, I always needed some chilies, so my Mum was great at making different varieties fresh. A lot of my recipes today are based on those delicious sauces that my Mummy would whizz up with love at a moment’s notice for me!
For years I have made chilies and shared them. A few years ago, friends of mine suggested I bottle and sell them, as they really enjoyed them. I asked my children what I should call my brand, and they looked at me like I wasn’t very smart, and said Mummy's Chilies!
I hope you feel the passion I have for the sauces I make.
